Chantal - I couldn't agree more with your comments and I hope that the people you talk to with also see the benefits of running a blog and newsletter side by side. The results can be really excellent and help to cement relationships with individual customers as well as strengthen a company's position in its market.

Hi Mark

Thanks for pointing me towards this posting of yours. I'm being asked more and more about the differences between blogs and newsletter. As I see it a blog and a newsletter should form part of your integrated marketing - working together and backing each other up. You can have one or the other; but better to have both!

Best wishes,

Chantal

Great post! A few other ideas:

-Foreshadow newsletter articles on blog - use a cliff hanger (eg: You'll have to wait for the newsletter or subscribe to the newsletter to find out more)

-Continue discussions of a newsletter article on the blog.
