[...] Never fall into the trap of thinking once you have subscribers you can forget about them just the opposite. You have done the hard work by encouraging them to subscribe but now it is up to you to maintain the quality and relevance of what you are writing so that they continue to return and read and also hopefully recommend your blog. (Remember the 5Rs!!) With RSS, it is both easy and immediate to unsubscribe from a feed so the onus is on us, as business bloggers, to maintain a standard which will keep their interest.
Thnaks for teh comment and I can't disagree that "riting" is an important aspect of blogging, Graham! Maybe I should follow the example of the 4Ps of marketing (aren't there about 9 now?) and start to expand on these 5Rs?

As for the company you mention having a blog but not using it to answer the posts from other blogs, I'm afraid that I put that down to a continuing lack of understanding of how to really use blogs in a corporate environment. Hopefully, that will come over tine though.

Can I be cheeky and add another "R"? Well sort of...actually I think businesses should go back to the "Three Rs" and should be "Riting" more. Few business blogs are updated as often as they need to be. Indeed, the other day I was reading some blogs which related to a particular large company (which has its own blog as well). There were hundreds of blog postings about the particular firm, but as yet - almost a week later - nothing has appeared about the issue on the company's own blog which was last updated in July. Blogging only works for businesses if they actually blog...and that means they need to be "riting" more...!
